General Hopsital: 3/12/12

This is NOT a normal detailed overview. Just wanted to let you guys know that I thought that the show was the worst it has been in weeks. Is Frank really that stupid to think that we would be STUPID ENOUGH to believe Sonny was shot. Are you kidding me? Ugh! The only halfway decent scenes today were the scenes between Carly and Blair, even though their BFFship came out of fucking nowhere, and they drank like a bottle of scotch, and drove to the courthouse! Nice going, Ron! Way to promote drunk driving! Ugh. Marr was disgusting, Starr looks like a pig... *oink* *oink* Kate scenes were okay, but unfortunately it seems like it's going to take forever! Don't worry though, the Todd scenes are moving quickly and have a ton of history in them! So glad to see so much of the Q's, the scenes are really heartwarming! Robin's body is happily rotting away, it just makes me warm inside! FV tweeted that the funeral starts this Wednesday! I'm so happy  to know Robin's close family and friends (including: Nikolas, Robert, and Brenda) will be there!

I'm so glad OLTL is picking up again! I love it!

The new title card to be unveiled in the coming weeks!

OLTL Takeover Gets Negative Reaction From Fans

Sorry for not blogging Wed. and Thurs. I was really busy with school work, yuck! I liked the Wednesday episode and the Thursday episode moderately; BUT TODAY, UGH!

Let me clarify, the show is getting better in some ways, but it's getting much worse in other ways. You know -- if GH goes out in the next few months, like it probably will: I want the last few months to be about Patrick, Anna, Luke, Lucky, Kristina, Molly, Morgan, Michael, Carly, Sam, Elizabeth, and even Jason, Sam, Sonny and Kate! I'd so much rather have a show with GH characters than this OLTL shit! I understand that it's an attempt to boost ratings, but as Scotty B (@scooterbeanbag) points out, it's easily becoming the Todd Manning show!

Further clarifying, I have nothing against OLTL, or it's viewers. It had as much of a loyal fan base as General hospital does today. And no one will argue that in its last few months, under the leadership of RC and FV, it got MUCH better. But here's the thing, OLTL is CANCELLED, GONZO, POOF, and it was cancelled for a reason. I'm perfectly happy if Todd, Starr, and Blair move to Port Charles, but they should get less airtime, or at least equal airtime, as the GH cast! When was the last time we saw Patrick? LAST FRIDAY, that's when! When days did we see the Manning family this week? Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Um, what?! How does this make any sense, Robin just died and her storyline is pushed completely off to the sidelines, to focus on people most of us literally know nothing about. We wanted newbies Maggie, and Cassandra off the screen, and we got that! Great! But to me, and many, Todd is a newbie, and so are Blair and Starr! We don't want them in the town, much less having the whole show dedicated to them! It's ridiculous.  Also, Ron is really forging friendships between OLTL characters and the GH characters. He is writing Michael like such a creep! WTF Michael, go away! Starr doesn't want to see you every 5 minutes (and we don't want to see her! FYI)! Blair demanding drinks at the Metro Court to forge the Carly and Blair relationship, UGH! You're attempts at changing GH into OLTL are transparent.

Where are the Q's and the Morgans. Jason has be demoted from King of GH to being banished! I really hope he wakes up as a Q, RC would really be stupid to not do that. I would gain a ton of respect if he was Jason Q, the doctor, not Jason Morgan, the MOBSTER!

GH fans are pissed; OLTL got their ending, but unfortunately, it seems to be returning! There's so much more to say, but i'll leave it at this: I loved the GH direction up until Tuesday, from there on out, it seems like it's a sad attempt to save OLTL. Ratings are up, and I really don't hope RC and FV take this as a sign that their work is really appreciated. (It's not!)

A lot of people are really upset, and are voicing their opinions on twitter about the OLTL take over (including vet Tristan Rogers--Robert!), I have include some of the MANY opinions below, voice your opinions to Ron: @carlivatiron, and to Frank: @valentinifrank!

Lisa Niles strikes again! -- sort of

No one can forget Lisa Niles and the horror that she brought upon the city of Port Charles in her final few months of life. Brianna Brown (ex-Lisa) has been cast in the new ABC Mexican soap adaptation Devious Maids. Devious Maids revolves around four maids with their own hopes and dreams, while they clean the homes of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills, California. Brown will play a Taylor Slate, a trophy wife for a man whose former wife continues to be a large obstacle in his life. (hmmm sounds like Brown will be on the opposite side, this time!)

For more information on Devious Maids, check out this article from the Hollywood Reporter.

Episode 3/6/12

Good:
- Connie/Johnny - Scenes were so much better today, KS kept smiling, and for some reason, I feel like that made the scenes exponentially better. KS/BB looked like the were really having a good time!

- Alexis/Carly  - Will Carly EVER leave the hospital? I also love how Sonny isn't even at the hospital but Carly assumes that's why Alexis is there! How big is your brain, Carly? It was also apparent that Laura Wright forgot her lines. There was some HEAVY stutter when Carly was telling Alexis about Anthony shooting Dante. REALLY should have been edited out. Otherwise, fun and SNAPPY dialogue, and again, made sense!

- Maxie - I really like Jen Lilley. Kirsten Storms is really missed, but I think with these scenes, JL is really shining as her own version of Maxie. Not just a replicate. I do wonder if Kirsten is ever going to be returning, but from what I've heard, it's not likely. Really good acting on the part of Jen. Really excited to see where this plays out, and if Maxie will ever be able to truly know if it was her fault.

- Anthony - HAHA. (That is all)

Okay:
- Better intro (which I have posted here). It's still too fast for the way that they are doing the graphics, but the Night Shift intro song is much better than the "trashcan" intro song. The commercials are now also directly after the credits, so we get GH to 3:58 now, instead of 3:55.

- Kate - At the end, where she saw that she was dressed so weirdly. UGH! Why was the scene done this way? Interaction with Maxie was good, but then she went into her room and realized how she looked. What, was Connie just walking along when she turned back into Kate? Did Kate never realize that she had hours of time, just missing from memory?! They should have shown her waking up in some strange place, or SOMETHING. Geeze!

- Luke and Robert - Good banter, and meaningful conversation. But what about Emma? Why is Ethan (a lie), more important than Robert's granddaughter? Also, where are the cars? Robert was right yesterday! Why did they build a bridge there?! Ugh. EXECUTION. EXECUTION. EXECUTION.

Bad:
- Holly and Ethan - Uhhh. This should go under the okay category, but instead is moving under the bad category due to continuity errors. This is another example of poor execution. RC seems to think we completely forgot about Helena and her "body guards." Well Ron, we haven't! Where is Helena and her DNA test?! I feel she may come back quickly, but not before Ethan escapes to wherever Luke relocates him (this is probably the last we will see of Ethan, as actor Nathan Parsons is leaving the show.)

- Sonny and Dante - Horrible! These scenes felt long and drawn out! Sonny kept screaming "my son arrested me!" Really, I wasn't understand this at all. Dante was telling Sonny that he really hoped that it wasn't him, because he didn't want to live the rest of his life never really getting to know him. Sonny played his "poor me" routine, and refused and really answer questions in any helpful manor. I think he knows that it was Kate/ConCon that did it! MB is getting so comfortable in the role of Sonny, that he really doesn't act that much! He sort of just reads his lines. Time for him to exit GH to make room for some old characters!

- Todd and Blair - Kassie is really doing a great job acting, Roger on the other hand... Trever St. John was so much better at Todd. Roger would play a very nice statue, however. The OLTL history babble is so on my nerves. Let's focus on GH, not a show that was CANCELLED. hahahaha Tòmas = Alkazar. lol.
Overall:
- Good episode, and without sounding repetitive, I like the new GH direction. According to an ABC rep, the intro we saw today is NOT the final one, thankfully. It is temporary, and the intro will change throughout the next few weeks. Hopefully, the ConCon S/L doesn't go on and on and on as it would have under Wolf, and maybe it will go somewhere interesting. I'm excited for Starr to get some GH S/L's, so we can stop hearing all about OLTL characters.

Who's cannnnnnie?

Update: To the Laura Wright forgetting her lines thing -- Laura told me on twitter that she got distracted by an orderly that walked by. That's why she stuttered! Thanks Laura!

Tyler Christopher not heading back to Port Charles?

With the massive hurds of old GH cast coming back to reprise their seemingly forgotten roles (thanks Guza!), many wondered if audience favorite, Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas), would be returning to General Hospital as well.

Tyler Christopher took to twitter to address the rumors:

With favorites like Anna, Holly, Robert, and Scott Baldwin returning, (hopefully) it may not be too far from reality to see Nikolas back on our screen in the next few months.

(Maybe Laura and Lucky, too!)

Episode 3/5/12

Good:

- Anna scenes -- always good

- Mac screaming at Dolores - LOL (why is she the only one not wearing a police uniform?!)

- Carly and Sonny - Carly left the elevator and the doors didn't close?! hmmm #soaplogic

- Robert & Luke - Good scenes! Well written, acted, and a decent set! (GUZA and WOLF: WATCH AND WEEP!)

- Maxie - She's in denial, good writing choice RC! She realizes what she has done! Wooo! Will she ever be able to forgive herself??! (hint, hint, YES!)

Okay:
Johnny & "Connie" - Ummmmmm. What? What idiot thought KS would in any way, shape, or form, be able to play this part. KS is literally the worst actress on GH, and nothing against her really, but oh my god, that ACCENT! WTF is that? KS is literally all over the place, I wish we had MW, but I really don't think she could play this part either. BB acting was on key though, he looked genuinely confused at "Connie." Good writing, but still, just no.

Bad:
- New credits (I posted them on YouTube here) - Frank V: What are you thinking? You speed them up 300%, take away half of the cast, and replace the iconic song with some _____________? I really have no idea how to describe that song. It's not really music -- it sounded like a bunch of trashcan lids hitting together, mixed with gunshots and explosions. It can only mean one thing: More Bensonhurst scenes, and more mob violence! (joking, obviously.) Hopefully, as someone pointed out on twitter, they are just temporarily using it until they find something decent (and possibly -- get some sort of positive news regarding the shows future).

- Sonny - Um, I'm sorry, do you have something stuck in your throat? Maurice is an interesting actor for about 30 seconds until you realize Sonny has literally no personality. I wanted to turn it off every time he spoke because he NEEDED TO CLEAR HIS THROAT! Uhhhhh!

- Starr, Blair, and Todd - Okay, I have never been a soap opera fan, but got sucked into watching GH b/c my mother used to be the #1 fan! I never watched OLTL, and on what planet is it okay for RC to come into GH, thinking we know about these characters. I seriously have no idea who these people are, yet I am supposed to feel so bad for Starr. Another instance of good writing, but strange execution.

Overall:
- Really like the new direction that the show is heading! Everything flows and makes sense! The hospital has OTHER doctors in it, and the PCPD has OTHER detectives (who knew?)! However, I still think its going to take a few weeks for RC to settle in, everything is a mess right now because of Wolf, and RC is slowly cleaning it up. The new intro needs to go the way of the Casssandddraaa, and Maggie! Really like this episode though, RC sure knows how to write a cliff hanger!
Hi, I'm Elizabeth. Welcome to Robin's house.
